Webmasters Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for pro webmasters. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Is there a wordpress photo gallery plugin that allows you to group photos into albums, comes with a sidebar widget to display the available albums for browsing and doesn't require registration on an external site? Basically is there something like the Facebook Photo application for Wordpress?

I've spent hours looking and trying plugins, but none of them seem to do this. They all link galleries to particular posts. You can't make albums independent of posts or pages. And none offer a sidebar widget to display albums. Anyone know of anything like this?

Although this is half on-topic, you'll get a much, much better response over at: wordpress.stackexchange.com - I'd migrate it there but migration options haven't been enabled yet. – Mark Henderson Aug 18 '10 at 21:25
This one is similar (but not exact): wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/299/… – Mark Henderson Aug 18 '10 at 21:26
Hmm... there were other wordpress plugin requests that were left open - I checked to make sure it was on-topic before posting. It's a strange line to draw... "We're a site for webmasters, but this, this and this web app that you might host are big enough to have their own site so we aren't going to field questions." I appreciate the getting better answers over there though. Still... are we going to start migrating things out of SuperUser, Stackoverflow or ServerFault because they could also fit here? – Daniel Bingham Aug 20 '10 at 2:09
