First of all I'd like to apologise if this is too off-topic, but this is the most relevant board I could find.

I've got a client who has asked me to do a spot of "competition analysis" on the side. He wants to start integrating Facebook (etc) into his website, but first wants to know how his competition is using similar things, presumably so he can attempt to gain ground over them. He's not really clear on what he intends to do with the "action plan" he wants me to produce, but he's insistent on having one before moving forward. Better safe than sorry I suppose.

I haven't done this sort of work before, but I drafted up some preliminary research which I sent to him to ensure I'm on the right track. He was pleased and it's surprisingly straight-forward work, but I'm not sure how much I should charge when I go at the action plan full-whack?

Any input on the matter would be greatly appreciated =)
