Some websites like Stack Overflow, everytime a new question is posted, Google indexes it almost instantly.

I've come to think that sitemap and RSS Feed are very important for search engines.

What other methods have you seen, or used?

quick indexing depends on number of backlinks.

Actually number of links is irrelevant. Quality of links is much more important. – John Conde Apr 13 '11 at 13:28
